Fresh on DeK, the DeKalb Mobile Farmers Market is now accepting applications for this summer’s market stops. The market provides fresh, affordable fruits and vegetables and healthy cooking demonstrations via a traveling produce bus. The 2018 market season will run from June to September.

Businesses, schools, recreation centers, houses of worship and others are encouraged to apply to host a stop. Benefits include increased foot traffic to the location and marketing assistance. Applicants must provide a liaison to help with the market, street-level parking to safely park a 60-foot bus, customer parking and good visibility.

“Asking individuals to eat more fruits and vegetables is not enough to change health outcomes,” states District Health Director S. Elizabeth Ford, M.D. M.B.A. “We must be focused on making policy, systems and environmental changes to have a real impact.  The mobile farmers market is a step in that direction.”

If your DeKalb County organization is interested in hosting a Fresh on DeK stop, please complete an application at www.FreshonDeK.com  by Thursday, February 15 or call (404) 298-4080 now.  Stops will be chosen by March.
