HIV/AIDS

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that, if not treated, may cause Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). About half of those with HIV who do not receive treatment develop AIDS within 15 years of becoming infected. Even though HIV is a serious infection, people with HIV and AIDS are living long, healthy lives.
