Fathers Offering Resources & Education
The Fathers Offering Resources & Education (FORE) initiative is a program designed to provide fathers 18 years of age with at least one child living in DeKalb County with chronic disease prevention awareness, health education and various resources needed to prevent the growing burden of chronic disease among men.
The FORE program offers many resources to assist men in learning how to prevent chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and prostate cancer by assisting with providing education and referrals for non-acute care to prevent and improve health outcomes.
The initiative offers:
- Monthly education and support groups on topics such as parenting, healthy relationships and wellness.
- Mentoring and support.
- An annual symposium on fatherhood.
- Referrals to health services.
