Decatur – The DeKalb County Board of Health’s Dental Health Services has received funding from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation.

The $10,000 grant will support 14 no-cost dental clinics this year.  The primary focus will be preventive services, fillings and extractions for children.  Services will be provided to children of very low-income families that meet the Federal Poverty Guidelines, are uninsured or underinsured, and have no ability to pay for dental care.  Most clinics will be at the Kirkwood Health Center, with some to be held at the Vinson Health Center.

The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation’s mission is to improve access to dental care for the underserved.
