Community Gardens

The Gardens in the Parks program provides communities access to public park land for community gardens. Community Gardens in parks will increase access to fresh and local produce and will provide additional opportunities for recreational physical activity. The Gardens in Park initiative is an inter-agency collaboration between DeKalb County Government’s Parks and Recreation Department, Natural Resource Management Office and DeKalb County Board of Health’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention.

In addition, the Office of Chronic Disease Prevention has community gardening partners such as, Atlanta Local Food Initiative, Atlanta Urban Gardening Program and Atlanta Community Food Bank.
