September is National Food Safety Month (NFSM)!
National Food Safety Month was created in 1994 to heighten the awareness about the importance of food safety education. Each year a new theme and free training activities and posters are created for the restaurant and food service industry to help reinforce proper food safety practices and procedures (http://www.foodsafetymonth.com/).
This year’s theme is “Let It Flow,” focusing on the flow of food through restaurants. Each week, DeKalb County Board of Health will feature activities and information addressing how food should be handled from the moment food reaches the restaurant, to when it is served.
