Does your child need a booster seat?
MYTH: My child is in second grade and is too old to use a booster seat.
FACT: If your child is shorter than 4’9”, is between 8-12 years old, or even weighs between 80-100 lbs he or she is safest in a booster seat. Age and grade have nothing to do with whether or not your child needs a booster seat.
Georgia Law requires that children 8 years of age and under must be
secured in a child safety seat or booster seat, and be secured in the back seat
If your child places the vehicle’s shoulder belt behind their back, or under their arm, this is a warning that your child needs to use a booster seat!!
