Vector-Borne and Zoonotic Diseases


Vector-borne diseases include infections transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks and fleas. Common vector-borne diseases include Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (transmitted by ticks) and West Nile Virus (transmitted by mosquitoes). Zoonotic diseases are infections spread from animals to humans. Rabies in an example of a zoonotic disease.
