Epidemiology is the study of the risk factors for, levels of, and groups affected by health conditions. This information is used in combatting health problems.

 

What does the Office of Epidemiology do?

The Office of Epidemiology:

  • Manages monitoring systems.
  • Conducts case and outbreak investigations.
  • Analyzes data and develops reports.
  • Creates educational materials.

To request health data, send an email to dekalbepi@dph.ga.gov.

Include:

  • The specific data you are requesting (for example, health issue, demographic group, and time period).
  • How you will use the data (for example, student paper or grant application).
  • The date by which you need the data.
  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
