Mission Statement

To protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of all DeKalb County residents. We achieve our mission by:
  • Protecting against environmental risks, and preparing and responding to disasters
  • Preventing and responding to epidemics and outbreaks of disease
  • Promoting healthy behaviors and educating the community about public health
  • Providing access to culturally sensitive, evidence-based, innovative, competent, and high-quality care
  • Advancing health equity through community engagement and partnerships
  • Using data to address healthcare disparities and improve population health outcomes

Vision Statement

A healthier DeKalb where all residents have equitable access to public health resources and live healthy lives.

We collect, analyze, and disseminate data to make informed decisions, continuously improve our skills and our services, and to guide program, policy, and funding decisions.
