Mission Statement

To protect, promote, and improve the health and well-being of all DeKalb County residents. We achieve our mission by:
  • Protecting against environmental risks, and preparing and responding to disasters
  • Preventing and responding to epidemics and outbreaks of disease
  • Promoting healthy behaviors and educating the community about public health
  • Providing access to culturally sensitive, evidence-based, innovative, competent, and high-quality care
  • Advancing health equity through community engagement and partnerships
  • Using data to address healthcare disparities and improve population health outcomes
