Public Health AmeriCorps

The Board of Health sponsors several Public Health AmeriCorps positions. AmeriCorps and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention created Public Health AmeriCorps to recruit, train, and develop the next generation of leaders to be ready to respond to the nation’s public health needs.

The goals of Public Health AmeriCorps are to:

  • Address communities’ public health needs and advance more equitable health outcomes for underserved communities.
  • Create pathways to public health careers through onsite experience and training.
